Cybercriminals Hit Property Management Company

In the present world, data breaches attacks are occurring quite frequently. These type of cyberattacks leads to a large amount of sensitive data leakage of the organization, which leads the organization to suffer from huge losses and even loss in their reputation. Recently Wolfe and Associates, property services company based in California got struck by a data breach cyberattack. Their online database was compromised by a group of cybercriminals. The most interesting part of this cyberattack is that the company was unaware that this data breach had taken place until they were being notified by the Santa Barbara Police Department on 5 March 2020. As per the investigation reports, this data breach attack struck the organization around six months ago and the company just got to know that their online database was being compromised by the data thieves. The cyberattack led the cybercriminals to get hold of a large amount of sensitive data which included information of rental applications that contained personal information such as name, DOB, Social Security number, driver’s license number, and home address.

Getting struck by a cyberattack is one thing, but not even knowing about getting affected by a cyberattack for almost six months is a matter of big concern. Just similar to the above cyberattack, recently the Cyble Research Unit (CRU) identified the cyberattack in which the DoppelPaymer ransomware operators targeted the Commercial Development Inc- a real estate development company. This attack involved the leakage of multiple sensitive files of the company. This is just one example of cyberattack from the big lot which the CRU identified. They work on tracking multiple numbers of cyberattacks on a regular basis. With the vision to reduce the number of these types of cyberattacks, Cyble not only holds the largest data breach monitoring search engine that holds over 30 billion darkweb records but also provides the services which include enabling faster detection of cyber threats via Cyble Vision and providing clear visibility to third-party cyber threats and risks via their Third-Party Cyber Risk Intelligence Platform.
