FORSEE POWER, A WELL-KNOWN PLAYER IN ELECTROMOBILITY MARKET, BREACHED BY NETWALKER

“Ignorance is bliss” is the favorite quote of Ransomware operators for the past few months. Organizations have been providing continuous training to their staff to be aware of certain types of cyberattacks including ransomware and the way they are introduced in an Organization; the prevention steps are seldom followed.

Recently, France has been in line of fire of these ransomware groups with 4 ransomware attack disclosures in July.

Cyble threat research group came across another disclosure from the Netwalker group where they have claimed to be in possession of sensitive data of Forsee Power –  a well-known industrial group, HQ in France and USA, specializing in smart battery systems for sustainable electric transport. Considered as one of the major players in Europe, Asia, and North America with annual revenue of around $65 million and over 200 employees.

Netwalker operators have claimed the attack through the message posted on their online blog-:

Operators have also shared a few screenshots to support their claim in which you can spot folders such as Accounts Receivable, Finance, collection letters, Expenses, Employees, and much more. Below are the snapshots of the sample of the data leak of Forsee Power.

An Organization is as safe as its weakest link in Cyber Security. Organizations need to identify these links and work upon them.

Tips on how to prevent ransomware attacks –

  • Never click on unverified/unidentified links
  • Do not open untrusted email attachments
  • Only download from sites you trust
  • Never use unfamiliar USBs
  • Use security software and keep it updated
  • Backup your data periodically
  • Isolate the infected system from the network
  • Use mail server content scanning and filtering

It is recommended to follow above mentioned prevention methods and never pay the ransom.
